FOR STUDENT WORKERS
This section offers a curated selection of tools and resources for Academic Student Workers, including a wage calculator, instructions for accessing pay stubs, a workload tracker, and payment schedule information. Staying informed and tracking working conditions is essential for empowering Academic Student Workers across the CSU.
FIND WHEN YOU’RE GETTING PAID
As Student Workers, we know how important each paycheck can be - and how confusing payroll can be at each CSU campus. Fellow Student Workers have compiled the following list so that all Student Workers can easily access online payroll calendars and ensure we are being paid on time.

FIND YOUR PAYSTUB
As CSU employees you can access your paystubs, W-2s, and other important employment-related documentation online at Cal Employee Connect. For information on how to register with Cal Connect, please visit the link for your campus. You will need the Agency Code in order to complete your registration. You will also need an old paystub on hand.

WAGE CALCULATOR
GA MONTHLY MINIMUM SALARY
TA/GTA MONTHLY MINIMUM SALARY (MASTERS)
TA/GTA MONTHLY MINIMUM SALARY (PhD)
ISA HOURLY MINIMUM SALARY
For ISAs (this includes tutors, graders, SI leaders, and any other academic student employee that should report hourly timesheets), the minimum salary is $17.01 per hour.
WORKLOAD TRACKER
It is important that you keep track of your hours worked throughout the academic term. If you are on average working more hours than your salary is for, your rights under Article 26 Workload, are being violated. Please contact us immediately if you are working more than your assigned hours.
The attached workload grid is a document that TAs can use to keep track of your hours. Each week, fill out the number of hours that you worked, and what kind of work it was.
For GAs and ISAs, your duties will be slightly different than the duties on these forms. Please continue to track your hours according to your responsibilities outlined on your Description of Duties form.
If you think you are working more hours than you are getting paid for or have any questions about how to fill out the workload grid, please email us at union@uaw4123.org
